PETERSBURG - The Missionary Ministry of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 613 E. Wythe St., in conjunction with Forever Young Ministry is sponsoring lunch and a play, "Olde Ship of Zion," with lunch being served at 2:30 p.m. and play starting at 4:30. The Seasoned Jewels, over 70 years young, are invited to attend.

PETERSBURG - Calvary Temple COOLJC, 110 N. Dunlop St., will have a pre-Women's Day celebration with breakfast and teaching. Mother Rosa Heath from Mission COOLJC will be the teacher from 9 a.m.-noon.

HOPEWELL - The Women's Ministry of Friendship Baptist Church, 1305 Arlington Road, will host a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. The speaker will be first lady Robin Johnson. A $5 donation is asked for the breakfast.

PRINCE GEORGE - The Male Chorus of Harrison Grove Baptist Church will celebrate its 10th anniversary at 5 p.m. Various male choirs will participate on the program.

WAVERLY - Liberty Baptist Church is sponsoring a "career job fair" from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

BLACKSTONE - The Ebenezer Baptist Association of Nottoway, Lunenburg, Amelia and Dinwiddie Counties will sponsor a Missionary and Youth Retreat at the Mount Gazerine Baptist Church, 3606 Kenbridge Road, beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. The theme is "Strategies for a More Effective Missionary Ministry in the 21st Century." The workshop facilitators will be the Rev. Diedra Faulkner, the Rev. Carl Butler and the Rev. Ricky Allen Jr. A health practitioner will be present to answer health questions and perform blood pressure and diabetic screenings. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

CHURCH ROAD - The Sisterhood Ministry of Mount Poole Baptist Church will sponsor a Rainbow Tea from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with the Rev. Pamela McLaughlin from Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg. A fashion show will also be held.

PETERSBURG - The TLB Outreach for Christ Ministry will be celebrating Bishop Thomas L. Blanding's 21st pastoral anniversary at Powell's Creek Batpsit Church, 641 Moody Road, Prince George, at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Bishop Patrick Avent from Greater New Testament Holy Church of Rock Mount, N.C. Repass directly after service.

PETERSBURG - Sister Mildred Radcliff from Refuge Temple COOLJC will close out the Women's Day celebration at Calvary Temple COOLJC, 110 N. Dunlop St., at 4 p.m.

PETERSBURG - Covenant Presbyterian Church, 201 Walnut Blvd., will have the Hope Ringers, a bell choir from North Carolina, under the direction of Dr. Larry Abernathy, provide the music during worship at 10:30 a.m. A nursery is provided during the worship service. The Hope Ringers from Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church in Cary, N.C., is comprised of middle schoolers in grades 6-9. No stranger to Petersburg, the choir director, Dr. Abernathy, served as organist/minister of music at First Baptist Church from 1987-1990.
