VERMILLION — The Yankton High School Science Olympiad team successfully defended their title by winning the 27th annual South Dakota Science Olympiad State Tournament ,held on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion on Saturday.
Likness: Playoff Change 'Right Way To Go'
And though the impending changes likely won't affect Yankton High School, at least in terms of recent history, football coach Arlin Likness said he thinks the decision makes sense. “The way I see it, it's probably the right way to go,” Likness said.

2011 Youth Art Show – Yankton High School
Youth Art Month - Yankton students Month March is National Youth Art, and we kick off the celebration earlier this year. For the next four weeks, the GAR Art Gallery will be filled with student work Yankton High School. art exhibitions of youth are presented throughout the nation during the month to celebrate the creativity of young artists and to recognize the vitality of American programs for arts education. For most shows, I present our traditional artists presented here as in "art forms" column.Since this exhibit is a cooperative project with Yankton High School - and there are many contributors - I asked the art teacher Peter Demming we have students provide their own statements about art. I really enjoyed reading all the different specifications and I am grateful that we are able to share with you here. Thank you to each student who participated! Here's a preview of the next generation of artists: • The art is like a fantasy world for me, I can look at something and draw the way I think it will "wow" people.
