Electric Bills Soar At Suspected Pot Grower's House
A NewsChannel 9 review of EPB records shows a dramatic spike in the monthly electric bills at 627 Bell Avenue, where Hamilton County narcotics investigators discovered what they call a huge indoor marijuana growing operation.
You saw it first, live on NewsChannel 9 Thursday night. A very sophisticated growing operation with $30,000 worth of equipment -- growing lights, air circulation systems, automated watering and fertilizing systems.
Investigators said 29-year-old James Bellottie is the illicit farmer they've now charged with several felonies.
"I'd say he had a good business going," Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Janice Atkinson said.
Atkinson said deputies got $150,000 thousand dollars worth of plants, thousands more in cash and pot packed by the pound in plastic bags ready for sale.
And yes, it took a lot of electricity to make it all happen. EPB records show Bellottie's average power bill shot up from about $200 a month to almost $600 a month.
Police say it was a snitch, or informant, who tipped them off Thursday.
Neighbors we talked with said they had no idea what was going on inside 627 Bell Avenue. Only one woman felt comfortable enough to speak on camera on the condition we don't reveal her name.
"It's not too kosher to be living two houses away from where it's at," the neighbor said.
Bellotie is scheduled to appear before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Clarence Shattuck April 25.

Automated Circulation System for Railway Transportation - Advantech
Rete Ferroviaria Italiana is in charge of managing the entire railway infrastructure in Italy. Recently they were concerned with improving circulation control in the face of growing traffic without affecting trip duration. Their target could be reached by creating a completely automated infrastructure to handle traffic in the stations in case of problems with communication in the remote central control room. Without an automated system, train routes must be handled manually, which is very time-consuming.
System Requirements Rete Ferroviaria Italiana wanted to introduce intelligent devices able to help remotely manage railway traffic. In case of lack of communications, the system needed to be able to analyze the input signals and re-route the trains in safe manner. The devices needed to be rugged and reliable, offering versatile functions for their unique application.
Project Implementation After implementing the new system, RFI was able to realize high voltage isolation on the power supply and serial inputs, with Ethernet connection to the main structure and can now use Modbus TCP/RTU compliancy to ensure reliable communications. Advantech’s rugged products were able to provide powerful hardware to ensure local real time DI/DO control capability of stand alone control with possible future local expansion through the ADAM-5000 series. Moreover they achieved a flexible and powerful integrated development suite with KW Multiprog.
